Finding the Best Path. Even When It’s Hard To See.

Option II has helped a number of organizations. Here are some of their stories.

CASE STUDIES

Client: Alliance for Audience

Objective:
Envisioned as a "convention and visitor’s bureau for arts and culture," Alliance for Audience was founded in September 2003 with a mission to attract new and greater audiences by dramatically raising the profile of the Greater Phoenix region’s arts and cultural institutions. Today, Alliance for Audience exists as a collaboration of more than 150 mostly non-profit arts and cultural organizations, and Option II was asked to help AFA grow from a pilot program into a fully-sustainable business that has its revenue streams to support its on-going work.

Solution:
Option II developed a communications plan for Alliance for Audience that outlined a series of steps that ultimately will introduce Alliance for Audience on a national stage; focus on how AFA has helped to make arts and culture in the Valley essential and vital; and introduce Alliance for Audience as a "non-trepreneurial," ground-breaking entity. One of Option II’s first steps was to successfully nominate Alliance for Audience for a Governor’s Award for Innovative Promotion during the Arizona Office of Tourism’s 2007 Governor’s Conference on Tourism. One of 75 nominations in nine award categories, AFA officials received the award in front of more than 600 tourism industry members in attendance.

Client: City of Avondale

Objective:
The City of Avondale hired Option II to create a marketing plan for a café it will include in a new community center. Designed to appeal to all users, but to specifically attract "baby boomers," the café will need to be self-sustaining.

Solution:
After analyzing community surveys, area demographics, generational data and outstanding service industry models, Option II developed a Customer Service Model for Avondale that included a service philosophy that reflects the increased demand by consumers for high-quality products delivered with consistent, professional service in a pleasing atmosphere at reasonable prices. Option II also developed a staffing recommendation based on hours of operation, existing resources and needs of City staff.

Client: Beatitudes Center DOAR

Objective:
This non-profit organization, focused on keeping older or disabled adults living in their own homes, asked Option II for help with general public relations strategies. Like most NPOs, Center DOAR must do a lot of vital work with few resources, so making every dollar and every minute of staff effort count was imperative.

Solution:
Option II sat down with leaders within the organization and mapped out a general communication plan – one that fortified outreach to attract volunteers and donors; clarified their brand message; and developed community connections to support their special events. We also got involved. Center DOAR has a powerful mission and a great story to tell. So, Option II did more than meet, suggest and leave. We joined and worked with the public relations committee to streamline their outreach process. We also set a series of measurable objectives for ourselves. Because when we succeed, they succeed – and our community is better off. Learn more about Center DOAR at www.centerdoar.org.

Client: Arizona Preservation Foundation

Objective:
The Arizona Preservation Foundation spearheads an annual Historic Preservation Partnership Conference that brings together leaders from state and federal arts, culture and preservation organizations to examine current topics in preservation, celebrate achievements and plan for the future. APF hired Option II to help secure underwriters for the 2007 conference, "Distinctive Destinations."

Solution:
Option II put together and executed a strategic plan to contact local, state and federal connections to solicit and secure sponsors for the four-day conference held in historic, Prescott, Arizona. Option II increased the total sponsorship funding to APF by 174% over the prior year. The funds raised support the organization's mission to sustain preservation efforts across the state, including salvage of sites in danger of neglect and bulldozers. Client: EB Lane

Objective:
Valley-based public relations firm EB Lane approached with a project – review a client’s already established communications plan and suggest a plan of action to take a stalled effort forward quickly.

Solution:
Option II reviewed the communications plan, developed with the client, and after compiling a list of questions designed to assure across-the-board understanding, submitted a 26-part strategic action plan focused on tackling the most pressing goals established by the client.

Client: City of Phoenix

Objective:
The City of Phoenix is developing a new pilot program to bring customers of all ages into one of its community centers – the creation of a bright, attractive café in the Paradise Valley Community Center that will attract, in particular, members of the baby boomer generation. The café must be self-sustaining and serve as a gateway to other social and recreational programs offered by the City. If successful, the café will be replicated in other city centers.

Solution:
Option II was hired by the City of Phoenix to create a customer service model and marketing plan for program – including the name and logo of the new cafe, which will open in early 2008. Working with city officials and staff members, Option II is developing a collaborative working model including a service philosophy; recommended staffing patterns and training methods; as well as sustainable marketing strategies to both attract new patrons and satisfy existing participants of the community center’s programs.
